Motor Insurance

There are three main types of

Motor Insurance:

1. Comprehensive
2. Third Party, Fire and Theft
3. Third Party only

The most common cover we see everyday is comprehensive cover as this provides the best cover for your vehicle and any vehicle or property you may damage in an accident.  However the main benefits of a Comprehensive Insurance Policy is generally in the optional Extras.  Therefore we are going to go through the optional extras that are available when you take out Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance.

Windscreen Extension
We recommend this extension with every motor vehicle policy in our office.  This extra enables you to have one free windscreen replaced each year.  This means in the event of a crack or a chipped windscreen that needs replacing this can be repaired without having to pay your excess.

Hire Car Option
In the event of an Accident and your vehicle needs repairing this extra enables you to hire a replacement car whilst yours is being repaired.  We highly recommend this if your rely on your vehicle for work or have no alternative vehicle if your everyday drive is being repaired.

No Claim Bonus Protection
Your no claim bonus is the length of time you have had no claim, the insurer calculates this as a percentage.  The higher your no claim bonus the cheaper your premium.
The highest no claim bonus available is generally 60%.
The No Claim Bonus Protection protects your 60% No Claim Bonus
in the event of a claim. Generally if  you have a claim
your no claim bonus will decrease to 50%.
If you have selected the No Claim Bonus Protection
this decrease will not occur –
(for the first claim only during the policy period).

If you have any questions or wish to add any of these optional extras your policy please let us know.
